Employees who pay Health insurance over 20 pay periods (September to June):
(ETA, ISEA, 10-Month CWA and 10-Month CMCW Members)
Employees continue to receive health benefits during the summer (July and August), as long as the employee is returning for the next school year.
- Excellus Premiums will be deducted over 20 pay periods from September 2023 through June 2024, the amount that is deducted covers the plan year (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024).
Terminate employment or becomes an ineligible employee during the summer:
If an employee terminates employment or becomes an ineligible during the summer (July and/or August), benefits will end on the last day of the month the employee terminates employment.
- An employee will be invoiced for July and/or August at the current premium rate.
- Payment not received by the due date employee benefits will retroactively be cancelled and the employee will be responsible for any bills associated with the termination of benefits.

If an employee terminates employment or becomes an ineligible during the School Year, benefits will end on the last day of the month the employee terminates employment.
- An employee will be responsible to pay the remaining balance of the health premiums for the months employee was covered by health benefits. The remaining balance will be deducted from final paycheck.
